Hey, I'm Jess.
I know exactly what it feels like to chase a professional fire service career in Ontario, facing what seems like impossible odds. I started Windrush Fire Coaching because, along my own journey, I realized that success isn’t just about hard work—it’s also about having the right guidance from people who truly understand the process. It took me countless hours of trial and error to crack the code, but once I did, doors started opening. Eventually, I found myself in a position where I could choose the right department for me.
When I committed to becoming a firefighter, I went all in. I left behind a successful corporate career in major retail sales, invested my savings into school, and dedicated every moment to becoming the strongest candidate possible. My life revolved around studying, training, answering calls as a volunteer firefighter, and building connections. I immersed myself in every available resource, determined to understand what truly makes a candidate stand out.
Now I help others do the same. If you’re passionate about the fire service, eager to succeed, and willing to put in the work, I’m here to help you navigate this process with mentorship and coaching.
With eight years of corporate experience in Communication, Sales, and Marketing at the world’s largest food and beverage company, I had the privilege of learning from top industry professionals in communication, negotiation, and high-pressure performance. This experience, combined with my role as a professional firefighter, gives me a unique perspective—I understand not only what it takes to thrive on the job, but also how to present yourself effectively in front of hiring panels.
