Welcome to Windrush Fire Coaching. We aren’t like the other guys... You won’t be receiving a copy and paste resume from someone who's never been on a fire truck. Windrush Fire has programs that are built to take a deep dive into who you are, where you've been and what you need to work on to make your dream a reality. We want to get to know you. At Windrush we know that successful candidates are prepared for applications both mentally and physically. That's why we offer specialized coaching for both fitness testing and application preparation. 

It's important to realize that successful candidates prepare for the interview before they receive the interview request. If you are scrambling to prepare stories and answers a week before that critical day, you're already under prepared. Interview prep should be done once candidates have completed OFAI and are in the application stage. That week in between interview request and interview should be spent on learning the department, not learning about yourself and how to speak eloquently under pressure. Windrush isn't about preparing you with 'the questions', our goal is to prepare you for all fire interviews. This takes work, and dedication to excellence, but always leads to success. All packages must be utilized within one year of purchase. Please allow one to two weeks lead time for appointments and booking. 

At Windrush, we pride ourselves on an extremely high success rate within one year of initiating Mentorship. We operate on 100% word of mouth recommendation and still have a wait list for some services! We are confident in our process, our advice and our interview prep.

Mentorship

     With Windrush Fire Coaching, you’re more than our client. We offer continuing contact and advice during the recruitment process for Mentorship clients. We know how it feels to be at a dead end, and unsure what you’re doing wrong or where to go next. Included in your package are phone sessions that you can use at any time during your application process. You receive three additional hours that you can book together or one hour each separately. Some candidates use this time to prepare for a second interview, some use it for an interview with a different department, some use it to prep for OFAI recertifications, some use it for general advice and encouragement. Everyone’s journey is unique and we offer this flexibility to suit your needs.  

Cost for the Mentorship Package is $2000

Please note: All minimum qualifications for hiring (DZ, EMR, 1001, 1072/472, OFAI 1-3) should be completed.  

Interview Preparation and Workshop

Interview Prep should begin BEFORE you apply, and before your interview request. You need to invest time into self reflection and generating a catalog of solid Situational and Behavioral answers before you begin thinking about a specific department. This workshop sets you up for success from the start and includes:

• A one on one virtual discussion on how fire interviews are conducted, scored and ranked.  Interview questions and core competencies will be discussed. Review of past interview preparation, past interviews and highlighting core competencies to discuss. 
• The Windrush Fire Interview Preparation Workshop: an in depth worksheet and information package for candidates to complete on their own to generate stories and answers. This workshop sets you up for success in any department's interview by generating thoughtful responses to Behavioral and Situational Competency questions. Guidance on Core Competencies that today's departments are looking for, as well as a category system to quickly identify and execute your answers.
• A two hour virtual video coaching session on the completed worksheet. A deep dive into your answers, your stories and what departments are looking for from you. How to best word your answers, virtual rehearsal, key phrases and STAR delivery if necessary.
• An additional flex hour of coaching for any fire interview.  
• If a specific department is being prepared for, please specify ahead of time. 
• Please note that this Workshop package takes over a week to complete. 

Cost for the Interview Preparation & Workshop is $1500

Cover Letter and Resume Package

• Applying and not hearing back? Chances are you need a resume re-work! Our service is a personalized approach that focuses on highlighting the certifications and core competencies that today's departments are eager to acquire. A deep dive into your personal and professional experience is necessary to produce a resume and cover-letter that emphasizes your suitability. 
• Live editing workshops through Google Docs once the resume has been professionally edited     
• Resume point system implemented into your resume and explained      
• Ability to tailor the resume and CL to the specific department job posting candidate is preparing for. Please specify ahead of time and provide job posting. 
• Fully editable versions through Google Docs will be provided for future use and ease of editing

Cost for the Cover Letter and Resume package is $700
